Hi, I'm Kate.

I'm a journalist who started writing long before I even knew what journalism was. This is my side project, a way to use the writing voice that doesn't quite fit into traditional reporting, in a place where it's OK if I'm part of the story.

I’m a native Midwesterner, a humidity hater and an unabashed lover of rescue pets, cheese plates and rooting for the underdog. I’m prone to bouts of nostalgia and personal questions, and yes, thank you, I would like to join your book club.

I live in the Washington D.C. suburbs with my husband Brandon and our six-year-old twins. When I'm not working, you can usually find me chasing after my kids, taking photos of everything and trying to somehow have a social life as a married and parenting adult.

I find most things fascinating, most especially the untold stories of all the people around me, which I promise includes you (yes you!). Thanks for stopping by.
